Hyundai Robotics first launched smart factory “H!-Factory”

▶ Introduced new technology and a new product in Korea’s largest “SMART FACTORY + AUTOMATION WORLD” on April 27 (Wed)
▶ Demonstrated a smart manufacturing system applicable to sites such as automobile and shipbuilding

Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings’ Robot Business Division (hereinafter, Hyundai Robotics) will be introducing the latest smart factory products and technology for the manufacturing innovation․
Hyundai Robotics announced that it will partake the “SMART FACTORY + AUTOMATION WORLD” held in COEX Seoul for three days from April 27 (Wed) to 29 (Fri), 2019  in its unprecedented, largest booth size of 150 pyeong (512㎡) and disclose its smart factory total platform “H!-FACTORY” for the first time.

Unveiled for the occasion, H!-FACTORY is a system that enables autonomous operation of manufacturing equipment and logistics systems in factories based on production data analyzed in real-time and characterized by the capability to offer hardware and software together.

Held under the theme of Digital Transformation in Manufacturing, the exhibition was attended by 550 companies from domestic and overseas, including Minister Seong Yun-mo (Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy), Minister Hong Jong-hak (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), and Minister Yoo Young-min (Ministry of Science and ICT), along with Vice President Chung Gi-seon from Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings, the chair company of Korea Smart Manufacturing Industry Association.

At this exhibition, Hyundai Robotics demonstrated the smart manufacturing system applicable to the actual business sites from the general manufacturing to the automobile, shipbuilding, and service industries, and Vice President Chung Gi-seon discussed the smart factory business with key clients after attending the opening ceremony.

Markets and Markets, an American market research agency, forecasted that the size of the world's smart factory market would rise from USD 121 billion in 2016 to USD 206.2 billion in 2022.

Building on the accumulated robot automation technology over 30 years, Hyundai Robotics, the No. 1 industrial robot company in Korea, is concentrating its business capabilities to preempt the market as shown its a smart factory joint business MOU with POSCO ICT in early last March.

In September last year, it sealed an agreement with HGZN, a Chinese robot company, to establish robot joint venture in Shanghai, and consequently completed a smart factory, capable of producing 20,000 units per year.

A source from Hyundai Robotics said, “This exhibition would provide us with an opportunity to leap forward to become a total smart factory company in cooperation with a range of companies like KT and Naver Labs while furthering software technologies such as advanced robots, big data, Internet of Things (IoT), and AI analysis.”
