COO of Hyundai Robotics Honored with the Merit of Gold Tower Industry

For the contribution to the localization of previously import-dependent robots
Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings’ Hyundai Robotics COO Seo Yoo Seong received the Merit of Gold Tower Industry, the highest honor at KOMAF on October 22, 2019. Merit of Gold Tower Industry is the highest government award given to those who rendered outstanding service to the national industry development.
COO Seo Yoo Seong joined the engine machinery business division of Hyundai Heavy Industries in 1988, and he has been in the medium-sized engine and machinery industry for 30 years and has led the development of the ship engines and robot industry in Korea.
Since starting the robot business in 1984, Hyundai Robotics has been manufacturing its own robots and controllers since 1995. Since 2007, it developed Korea’s first LCD transportation robot, greatly contributing to the localization of robots that had been relied on import. In recent years, the company has consolidated its position as Korea’s major robot company by actively developing new products like
Korea’s first robots for heavy industries (robots with major cables placed inside the robot).
COO Seo Yoo Seong said, “I have received this award on behalf of the executives and my senior R&D fellows who have worked hard for the development and growth of the ship engine and robot industry in Korea," and continued, “I will assiduously strive to make continuous development and growth in the robot industry in Korea.”
