HHI Donates 1.2 Billion KRW to Help Overcome COVID-19
Hyundai Robotics donates 200 million KRW to Daegu and Gyeongbuk area to help tide over COVID-19
Hyundai Heavy Industries announced on February 27, 2020, that it had donated 1.2 billion KRW to Hope Bridge Association of the National Disaster Relief to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and provide support to fix the damage.
It set up “1% Sharing Foundation” made by donating 1% of the employee’s salary and donated one billion KRW to the association. Also, the donation of 200 million KRW to Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions was made under the name of Hyundai Robotics, headquartered in Daegu.
Kwon Oh-gap, the chairman of 1% Sharing Foundation, said, “In times like this, we have to surmount the crisis by gathering our strengths. I hope this donation can help those in difficulties.”
Seo Yoo Seong, the COO of Hyundai Robotic, said, “We are based in Daegu, and we hope our donation can help people in this region to overcome the crisis we are currently facing.”
