Author 홈페이지관리 | Date 2021.01.06

▶ KT signs an MOU with Hyundai Robotics and Monthly Kitchen for digital innovation in shared kitchens
▶ To promote the digitalization of "shared kitchens," such as the joint development of dining-out solutions and robots
▶ After automated serving and cooking tests, to review the application to nationwide "Monthly Kitchen" stores

Hyundai Robotics, the integrated robot subsidiary of the Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, announced on November 13 that it signed "an MOU with KT and Monthly Kitchen to promote the digital transformation (DX) of shared kitchens and dining-out."

This will have the three companies give shape to △ the joint research and development of shared kitchen and dining-out solutions, △ the development of robots for shared kitchens, cooperation on the pilot operation, and introduction of DX services for dining-out, and △ the approaches for marketing cooperation.

Hyundai Robotics’ cooperative and mobile robot technology, KT’s ICT technology, and Monthly Kitchen’s overall management know-how and infrastructure for dining-out will be combined to automate the serving and cooking processes in the building where the shared kitchen is located. The plans are to apply this service, which became concrete through testing, to Monthly Kitchen stores nationwide and extend it even further to resident kitchens.

Hyundai Robotics entered the "food-tech" market by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the joint development of chicken manufacturing automation with KFC last month.

Earlier this year, Strategy Analytics, a market research firm, predicted that the size of the service robot market would grow from $31 billion last year to $122 billion in 2024.

Hyundai Robotics plans to develop robots for cleaning, security, guidance, quarantine, and logistics by the first half of 2021. An official of Hyundai Robotics said, "We will continue to strengthen our competitiveness in the service robot market by securing a lineup of five mobile service robots by the first half of next year."
